Anyone play Guild Wars

Has anyone tried Guild Wars? It's a MMO that is free to play after you buy the game. Best to get the Trilogy game; a lot more to play.

I played a little of the first game when it was first released. Free online was pretty neat but I could never quite get into the game as much as I'd have liked. Never tried the expansions.

I played through all 3 campaigns plus the expansion. Did the 2 hard dungeons (FoW and UW) in the original but didn't try the ones in the other two. It was a fun playing, getting a bit of the MMO feel without the monthly fee and pressure to play all the time. But once you do everything once there's not much to it. And by once, I mean I played through the 3 campaigns once with different 9 characters each 😛

same here, only thing i do now is farm when a new build comes.
you can get a good run in before it gets nerfed.

I haven't played in a while but it was a really fun game, I'm really looking forward to GW2.

played a lot for 2-3 years. Did almost everything in the game PvE wise. Then I did a lot of PvP towards the end and I just lost interest. Got repetitive because they didn't really add too much after the announcement of GW2.

I would like to see what they do with GW2 but personally I'm holding out for SW:OR or Secret World

My wife and I play Guild Wars, and we have many boxes of Guild Wars. She has two accounts, and I have two accounts, and all account each have all campaigns, plus additional stuff. If I had more time, I'd be playing regularly. I simply don't have the time to do so anymore.

And I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2 to come out. I'll likely take some time off of work when that happens.

I almost bought GW Platinum (was $7.79 at Amazon)...I'm sure there's plenty of life left in the game, but I'm so far behind with other games already that I didn't get it.
