Ah man, I quit i think in 06? or was it 07, I can't remember. I had a RNG and WAR at 75. I was pretty hardcore about having the best gear and I was like 90% there for my classes, even had a whole haste/kraken club setup for my RNG. Had an adaberk for warrior, only thing I was missing was a Ridill.
Eventually I stopped playing when I just got completely bored. Another year had gone by with no real gear upgrades or progression, my guild got to the point where we were just running things for new people regularly and having to pick up their slack to get them geared up and through CoP and such. Dynamis, everything, just because such a headache. No gear was gonna make a difference in my performance and people camping the same kings since I started playing a few years earlier.
It just kinda hit me. I sold all my gear, sold my gil for $1300 and my toon for $400. I felt a LITTLE better about my time wasted. Now I waste my free time with WoW when I'm bored which for me is leagues better, even with everyones minor complaints.
God leveling crafts (100 Cloth was ridiculous), leveling skills (great axe was a nightmare but I capped it).. my GL/friend finally getting relic horn.. was just.. such a horrible waste of time.
Anyway, with that said, I won't be touching FF14.
