Anyone play Empire Earth? When playing and during start up it freezes for a second.

I have the new msi Ti 4400, Win 2k, using driver 2832 (seems to do it with all the latest drivers), P4 1.9 and so on and so forth. This thing seems to always freeze up although just a couple of times during play it bugs me all the same. I use the ViewSonic A70 and the Intellimouse Explorer if that is important. I also have 256 pc800 rambus and the latest patch for EE. Any guesses..............😕
 
Do have anything running in the background like antivirus program or something, if you do try closeing them before playing
