I consider myself a guitar player, but I'm "holding" a bass guitar for a friend and I've had the greatest time playing it!
Should have picked one up along time ago!

ha, ya ive played bass for like 6 years now (string bass that is 😛 ) and now im learning how to play the guitar

I originally learned on the bass & then picked up the guitar a year later. I have been playing both on & off for the last 3 or 4 years now.

What's the difference between bass and normal guitar?

A bass guitar has 4 strings (it's missing the 2 higher pitched strings), and is tuned 2 octaves lower (is it two or one, I forget?). To be tuned lower it uses heavier strings and has a slightly longer neck (most people won't notice the neck unless side by side, but they will notice the thicker strings). Traditionally the bass is also played with your figers instead of a pick.

There is also an upright bass which is often seen in orchestras although it is basically an acoustic bass guitar. These basically look like 6 foot tall violins.
