anyone owned klipsh and logitech speakers?

Looking to see if anyone went from the z680 or z5500 to the klipsh pro media 5.1 ultras and if so was it worth the extra cash?
I have owned the z5500 before and would like to try out the pro media.

Yeah, get ready for a flame fest. After putting on my flame suit, I have to say my Klipsch 4.1's put the Z560's I had to shame for what I listen to 99% of the time.

I was interested in buying the Z-5500...but i wasnt sure if they were a good choice...since you own it, what do you think about them?

I loved the z5500!!
But I always hear how the klipsh are the best so I want to give them a shot.In casnada they are 200$ morea for teh klipsh.

the 4.1's i've had were definitely a step up from the z560s. Regardless, i don't think either are being made anymore :(

From personal experience:

I have the Logitech z5300e's.
A very good system for the money. Unless you are playing games in a very big room with the speakers spread out a ways, you probably wont notice the lack of power. And when I say lacking, I mean going from 505 watts to 280 watts. Not a big deal unless you enjoy damaging your eardrums.

The only downside is they only have triple-stereo inputs. No Fiber Optic or Digital Coax.

I have some logitech erm, z-540 ? The 5 piece set that was popular a few years ago. They are decent, but I dislike the effect of the sub on music, and usually have bass turned all the way down while listening to it. They are better for movie effects and gaming, but with the amount of time I spend listening to music these days, I'd get a different set if I was buying now.

I've got a dead Dayton Sub in my garage it lasted about 8 months. I admit it sounded pretty good for the $100 I paid for it while it worked. But not even in the same league as Klipsch and warranty? what warranty? Klipsch is like craftsman tools you can RMA them 20 years after purchase, and in most cases they will fix them free

Just my $.02 worth, but I'm just an old rocker with too many noise makers, hence the member name

And to continue the one upsmanship and get just plain silly, a pair of these would own all

Don't even try to compare the $120 Dayton sub to the Titanic MKIIIs. A 10" MKIII driver is $150 alone.

notice "5 year driver and 1 year amplifier warranty" on the 15" kit.

You can't get a klipsch subwoofer in the same pricerange as the dayton tiny mighty (if that's what if was).
I think it's an amazing sub for $100.
I'd take an SVS over a klipsch sub any day of the week though.

z5500 vs. pro media ultras, it's no contest. Logitech makes great keyboards and mice. Klipsch makes great speakers. They're more expensive for good reason.

The best way to do it is buy something that sounds good to you, and dont look back. If you do, you will become sad and upgrade every 6 months.

I bought an Ultra 5.1 Promedia and have never looked back. Looking forward, Ill be getting a serious setup with amp/preamps etc. But that is in 5-10 years.

I went easy on my z-560s when I got them. The z-560 sub had a tendancy to blow out. There are moving parts in a subwoofer and I'd suggest not cranking it right away until it gets a little low and medium volume levels to it.

When you go more expensive this is less of an issue. For example, the guys at SVS test out the subs ahead of time and tell you to crank it as soon as you want to.
