i have it...a very good camera

it has a very fast auto focus system. Myriad of manual controls, superb lens and pic quality.

That's what I've been hearing. You dont happen to have any sample pictures I could look at do you? Also, might you have any experience with Canon cameras?

Bought one for my son. All I originally wanted was a friggin point & shoot that would fit in a pocket. After going through a couple other cameras, I bit the bullet and bought it. The Hologram focus assist is what makes it a true point & shoot. The other cameras couldn't lock focus in low light, which is where nearly half our shots are done. The price seems to have bottomed out, so there's no sense waiting.

Only down side I've found, is the battery life, which is about 40 minutes. Not a big problem, since you can snag extras for $20.00.

Edit: Here's my experience with the Canon S50. The last image was the first shot from the new V1. It handled the "low light" situation flawlessly, effortlessly, and has done so ever since.

I have the DSC-P71
I really like it. I have had it for over a year now. Battery life is only about 40 minutes, as Ornery says. But charging is quick and I have two spare sets of batteries that I carry in the case, so it is not biggie.

I like the features is has, and I think it takes nice pictures.

Thank you Ornery!! That was exactly what I was looking for. That alone probably put me over the edge. I was leaning towards it beforehand but seeing that was what I needed. I'll post test pics tonight!!

Where are you buying from, that you'll have it today? We bought ours online to save some serious money. We used ClickForDigital, which was sort of risky, but it all worked out in the end. You got a B&M source for low prices, or price match?
