Anyone own the Compaq p1100 monitor?

My housemate picked one up (refurb as well) at a computer show a few months ago. Damned nice monitor. Wish it wasn't aperture grille though; everytime I sit down to check something quickly at his desk, I'm taken aback by the support wire lines, they just ruin it for me.

Sony uses AG as well which IMHO is superior to Shadow Mask. I don't even notice the support wires on my two Sony G400's. You get used to it and they just kinda blend in and you only notice with real light colors.

Well, 50% of stuff you do is in colors lighter than the other half. Call it 25% really light. Easily seen for me, enough to be annoying and they don't blend in and I don't get used to it. Plenty of people to say that shadow mask is superior in their opinion. AG is better for colors, shadow mask is better for text (and presumably sharpness all around). Slot mask supposedly does well to blend the two.
