I currently have a really nice 3.4 MP digital camera(Olympus c-3040), but it isnt getting enough use because of its clunky size,
and i dont even know how to use all its features. Does anyone have this Canon s110 or even s300, and is the 2.1 Megapixel too low? I dont know if the megapixel hype is something i should consider or no..

i got s110...i love it... since i dont take professional pictures or anything, just pictures for memories and what not, and to put on web pages, the 2.1 MP is good enough for me....
edit: oh yeah.. i take it pretty much everywhere I go too.. well.. not everywhere, but more often than not...

I don't own either...but canon just came out with the s30/40 line of camera...which are a bit bigger than s110, but has 4mp i belive. I use to have a 2.1mp fuji and just upgraded to a canon g2 with 4mp, I notice that my pictures are more clearer without much noise. Obviously 4mp is a big size for pictures, but I just do a batch downsize to like 800x600 or whatever size i need...looks very good and sharp.

How many megapixels you need is mainly dependent on if you expect to get big prints or not. If you only do 3x5s and 4x6s, 2 mpixels is enough. Good 8x10s need atleast 3 megapixels.

I am currently saving up for an S110. Every single review I've read, everyone I have talked to says it is an awesome camera. I want it badly. But then again its $350 at Buy.com so I still have lets see ... about another $150 to go.

I bought my dad the S300 for Christmas. I got it because I have the A20 and they share the same internal parts. I love both cameras and almost wish I had gotten the s300 myself. The only thing I like better about the A20 is it takes AA batteries, so if it dies, I can stop at any store and pick some up. Shoot me a pm if you like and I'll email you a couple of pics from the s300 if you'd like to see for yourself.

I bought the S110 from Dell a month ago and my wife is happier than a pig rolling in mud. She loves the size but I hate the slow response time it takes to press the button and wait one second than shoots. What I like about it is when I hook up the usb connectors between the camera and the front usb port on my pc and Windows XP automatically downloads the images to a new folder. I thought that was cool. Pictures look great and I would get recommend this camera...

I had an S100 but I sold it and just bought an S40.

The size of the S100/110 is definitely advantageous. It is much more useful because it was never a hassle to carry it around. The S40 is definitely bigger and bulkier but still not too bad.

Unless you are going to print out large pictures, I don't think 2.1MP will be too bad. When I look at my 4MP pics compared to my 2MP pics, I don't really notice that much of a difference. The reason I got the S40 was because I was sick and tired of the shutter delay and the crappy flash in the S100.

I have the S110 and a Nikon 950. The Nikon is much bigger but I use it more and the image quality is better, except with flashe photos (too strong). The S110 is indeed small, but it's a little too thick to comfortably fit in a pocket, so I end up carrying it in a bag, so I'd rather just take the Nikon. 2x zoom on the S110 is rather limiting as well.

S110 is an awesome little camera.

Only limitation the 2.1Mp would be if you use it for large prints. To view photos on screen or for 6x4 prints its perfect.
The picture quality still amazes me.
