Does anyone have or tried genuine eiderdown bedding?

Is it substantially different than normal down comforters and pillows? I haven't seen any retail stores that carry it.

I searched best pillow in the world, and eiderdown came up.....must be something that makes it special.

Never even heard of them.
Whats the big deal? High thread count or something?

I just got some cheap ass microfiber sheets from BB&B with a 20% off coupon, of which I have dozens. Those things are so freaking soft and warm I may be spoiled.
Last year I bought some expensive 778 thread sheets from Wamsutta or whatever. Total rip off. The thread count doesnt do much of anything except drive the price up. And after a year they are already falling apart so you cant use the quality argument either.

I dont care much for expensive things when they dont feel or work better. Expensive beds give me a much nicer sleep than cheap beds, but expensive sheets and blankets just look nicer.

eiderdown.......a bedcover made of the down or soft feathers of the eider duck (a northern sea duck).

Definately pricey!
