It doesn't materr one damn bit if it's only a few dollars. the fact that other companies are cheap asses and use cheap caps that blow out components and fail means that I, and many people would rather buy something with a more solid electrocal foundation. Plain and simple.

Didn't someone open up a PCP&C to find the same cheap caps as in other brands?

You don't pay extra for the parts with PCP&C, you pay it for the warranty and the service. Fine and dandy but when i'm never going to make use of that service or that warranty i'll never waste my money on it.

And there i think I'll leave it otherwise we'll just end up chasing our tails for no real reason. I'm not going to convince you that PCP&C isn't worth the money and you're not going to do the reverse for me ;)

I would just like to point out the PCP&C Silencer line is much more reasonable and also gets you PCP&C's excellent support for three years.

Agreed, PCP&C is very good but they are not the only game in town.

It's a matter of build quality and quality components inside the PSU rather than name or reputation.
nothing to see here folks, move along.....

wait, just one more question.... so why pay a premium for those "names" and "reputation"?

The components used in top end PSUs are rated for higher effeciency and last longer (both obvious). That's why. Cheap PSU means who knows how long it will last, but some people upgrade often so they never see parts fail anyway.

I don't understand this thread... who is saying get a generic POS power supply?

You're arguing over spending money on the most expensive option being worth it or if you can get away with just a very good PSU.

No, it's because someone said it wasn't worth it. Yet, it is worth it to some people because there's a piece of mind factor.
