I just picked up Hauppauge's Win TV Theater card and so far I'm pleased with it, but I have a few questions. In the manual it says that 1 minute of recorded video is 100 megs.. Is there a good program that could compress recorded videos that way it can be small enough to fit on a CD-ROM, because I would like to record movies and tv shows.
Also, if you have cable hooked up to the card, how do you have the wires set up? I was hoping I could somehow use the card as a second cable box in the room, but I doubt I could do that because of the way I have my wires set up. I get mostly 'blue screens", but I do get some channels working great. I know I could split the wire that goes to the tv instead of the one that goes into the cable box, but then I'll see the same thing thats showing in my cable box. Any suggestions?
thanks in advance..
