I am considering this monitor. IBM's specs are skimpy, in fact the link to the specification detail page doesn't work (times out). I know it's Sony's 19in. CRT, has dual inputs, ie. you can hook two systems to it, there is a front panel switch. I haven't been able to find resolution and refresh specs though. Checked all the reseller links through Shopper.com, couldn't find much more info from any of their sites, hard to even find a pic of the thing.

TIA ...

I coulda sworn there were some owners of this monitor here ... IIRC, people were buying it because it comes in an optional black color as well as the traditional white/cream.

This should help you.

P96

19" FD Trinitron
17.9" VIS
0.24mm stripe pitch
Frame rate: 48-120Hz
Line rate: 30-107Hz
Pixel rate: 230MHz
Dual video inputs
1600x1200 @ 85Hz
HWD 18.7"x18.1"x18.2"
59lbs
3 year warranty

Specs are ok, doesnt look spectacularly impressive, I'd go with KDS.

LXi: The specs of the IBM and the KDS are essentially the same. It's the same CRT as well. Plus, the IBM has the dual inputs, which was an attractive feature (no it's not just a BNC added on). Also, the KDS KARES warranty is not as great as people have been making it out to be. It's basically no different than any other companies' 3 year warranty. Only during the first 90 days do they pick up the return shipping costs. Also, they reserve the right to replace with a refurbed unit, which is also just the norm.

Its all up to you, the KDS seem to have higher specs, the KARES warranty is very good, replaces units within days.

The KDS can do 1920x1440, at least claimed by an owner. It will be tons cheaper, and just by reading the policies wont tell you much. A KDS/IBM owner will be able to clarify this.
