Anyone own an ironwood chopping block?

I just ordered one because it was supposed to be the bomb, but it has to be soaked in warm water for a couple of days before I use it. Does that sound right?

I don't really know for sure. Where did you get it? Did you get the one from wokshop? I asked for one of the other chopping blocks for christmas.

IIRC, its a family of tree that includes those weird trees that have those banana shaped seed pods.

Yup, it just arrived.

Wokshop gets an official :thumbsup: and endorsement from me. It got here in no time flat from the other coast, they threw in goodies for free(nice 36 page recipe booklet, wooden utensils, bottle of mineral oil), plus they included the instructions for treating the wok and the block in an email and printed out in the shipment...
