My next house, I want to include solar panels and a battery storage unit like the power-wall. Anyone foray into these yet?

It appears there is no love for the power wall. My hunch is that it doesn't make sense if you have a grid tied system, though I've never looked at the numbers.

It didn’t make sense when I did my panels in December to include a battery. Rebates on the panels themselves covered almost 75% the cost of the system. My inverter will allow me to add batteries at a later date.

My buddy has 2 LG Chem’s installed and they never surpass 25% charged with the second never charging. And he’s in an extremely sunny area. Not worth it yet if you’re still grid tied.

it depends on how many solar panels you have

if you produce a large surplus during sunny days, then it might be worth it

or if you typically have very low load during the day (everyone at school/work)

He has 35 panels and lives in a high output area. Batteries. Aren’t worth it yet.
