anyone own a Startac?

I just bought a slim main Li-ion battery off eGay and it seems to work fine, just gives me "invalid main battery" message when i try checking how much is left on the sucker. battery life seems about right for the slim model. anyone encounter this problem with any batteries with the Startac? any advice appreciated...thanks

I have a Nickel Metal Hydride battery, and it sucks... talktime is like 60 minutes, standby isn't even 24 hours... the problem is that it's discontinued now (I have the 8000something), and finding a grey lithium ion battery is hard, not to mention expensive =X

I have a Motorola Vader V8160 (like a mini-StarTac) with a Li-Ion battery...
It gets great battery life... sometimes 5 days without a recharge...

i initially thought my model (7868) was not compatible with the battery, but the e-tailer said it would be fine. it is still going alright, and the phone has no problems ringing or vibrating, just cannot check battery life with that darn invalid main battery error
