I've kinda' got one eye on the Soyo P4I845PE ISA motherboard for its ISA slots....
It WOULD be nice to have ONE PC for both modern use as well as my classic sound cards.

But man... this board is 2-3 times more expensive than the great Shuttle MN31N nForce2 board I did get...

Any ISA boards that won't break the bank?

At that rate it would probably cost the same to buy new PCI hardware instead of the older ISA cards you have.

You show me a Roland LAPC-1 in PCI and I'll buy it for you. ;)

I'm talking about my classic cards that cannot be replaced because no modern PCI equivalent exists - but still.... The LAPC-1 is the only must-have item in my classic soundcard collection, which can be replaced with the actual Roland MT-32 external sound module. That would be about 1/2 to 1/3 of that Soyo boards' price. And it's cool to look at with all the blinking lights.... :) And I can stick to smaller cases so I don't have to wonder about where to stick this 13" monster.

I'll just hang onto my ol' klunker Pentium2 for classic sound cards and work on getting some external modules instead.
As well as the cheapest TB Santa Cruz card I can get my hands on - the only modern card out there (short of a POS "Crystal" chipset card) with a "waveblaster" header so I can also use my Roland Sound Canvas daughterboard.

I was hoping for *modern* not BX. ;) I already have an old BX P2-233 with ISA for that purpose. ;)

Hmmmm

Soyo SY-7VBA133U - Has 2 ISA slots and can still be bought new, but it is Socket 370 (P3T or Celeron)
Otherwise have a look for used Abit KT-7s, they have one ISA slot. They are Socket A but are limited to PC133 RAM and FSB133(266) CPUs. Nevertheless a great improvement over you current P2 if you put an inexpensive XP2200 in there.

Here is a Abit review:

EDIT: As you have noticed getting a really modern mainboard with ISA is expensive as they are generally built for low volume sales to labs and industry that use irreplaceable ISA cards for certain machine interfaces.

Depends on what you mean by modern. I have a Biostar M7VKQ rev.1.1. No AGP, 3 PCI and 1 ISA shared. I got it for the ISA slot. PC133 memory and Palomino CPU's only.
It has been running as good as any PC i have ever had for a year with a 1600XP and 512 Mb's of generic PC133.

The new M7VKQ's drop the ISA and added an AMR and became the M7VKQ Pro:disgust:

Good Luck on your search.

Looks like Gigabyte has an Athlon 64 ISA board, GA-K8VNXP. It is more expesive than the SOYO board though.
