I own a Fujitsu Lifebook 420D. It's a P120 and I've had it for 4 years now. It has been great and I haven't had any problems with it. It is quite durable since I kinda dropped it a few times... It still works though. :D I have no problems recommending one. Good luck! :)

My GF has an old a p100 Monte Carlo. It's slow, but then, that's to be expected :p

BUT, it's still alive... it's been put through hell and was used on a daily basis for over 4 years.

In fact, she just got a new laptop a few months ago.

We had to call service once about 3 years ago, and I have to admit that they were pretty good.

Mine has an 11.3" display but it's old so it can only display 800x600. It is however good enough to view most webpages and at that resolution everything is pretty big so you can see the text and everything fine. I'm posting from it right now. :)

BTW: From what i've heard from other people that own Fujitsu laptops is they last a very long time. :D

Fujitsu does not seem 2 market it's laptops much in N America, but in worldwide sales it's just below Sony in market share. The P-Series has a 10.6" TFT, at 1280x768, I had 2 order one without viewing it. Saw some 11" screens at Comp USA tho, they seemed fine. I want an ultra-Lite notebook I can carry around 2 CoffeeHouses, etc. Not looking 4 a powerfull "DeskTop replacement"...

The 12" Apple iBook in some ways can be considered a (small) desktop replacement with DVD/CDRW, USB, Firewire, audio out, 20 GB drive, 1024x768 screen, VGA out, and built-in wireless antennae. Less than 5 lbs, and not too expensive. Bigger than those ultralights though. I take it to the coffee shop for wireless surfage. :)

I bought a Fujitsu Montecarlo p-100/800mb/upgraded to32mbRAM...mainly my wife uses it...it has never failed to boot and never once gave her the BSOD...i was/am fairly impressed with them....not a pixel has gone bad in the screen...about a year or two ago i loaded win98SE,Office 2K and your basic surfers package...it runs well on win98, but is not fast by any means...whe has accidentally pull it off the table...and it still works fine...the only problem is that it doesn't have enough power for her to listen to internet radio/mp3s while doing anything else...but what do you expect for a 100mhx PC...
