Anyone own a DS3 and a BBA X1800XT(or 1900 series)

My setup is similar: Gigabyte DS3 (F8j bios) & Sapphire X1800 GTO, connected [via VGA adapter] to a CRT monitor.
The bios screens are normal. However, the only XP video drivers that will work are the June 2006 drivers from the Sapphire CD.
The more recent ATI Catalyst 6.11 and 6.12 versions hang on reboot after installation.
The Gigabyte logo bios screen can be disabled in bios, if wanted.

I am just little worried something might be wrong with the card. Because if there is I want a refund 😀. I got it disabled ATM but am just curious why its doing it.

So: any problem (other than the bios boot screen) running the latest Catalyst 6.12 driver?

Play some Battlefield 2 or whatever for a few hours, run some benchmarks...only way to tell is to stress that card out a bit.
