I have two of them. Haven't opened one, but the other will do 950mhz @ 1.85 with stock HSF @ 132 degrees. Waiting on the TaiSol CEK733092 I ordered. Hoping for 1ghz. Will try the other other also when the TaiSol's arrive.

Phuz, I'm pretty sure that the only way is to look at the number on the top of the core.

gplracer, if I remember correctly, I have a week 29. It will do 850 rock solid, but I get BSODs @900, it will also boot @950 and 1GHz. I'm pretty sure that the problem is my HSF, as I have an old GlobalWIN FEP-32 that I moddified. When my new HSF comes in, we'll see what happens.

I have 2 week 29's, serial #'s ending in 60912 and 60897.
Both run solid as a rock, 100% stable, at 112*8, or 896mhz.
Also had them at 950mhz, but 896mhz is MUCH faster, and actually
seems MORE stable. Never any BSOD, or errors of any kind.

Using:
KT7
CompGeeks $22 250w case
Stock Retail included HSF 1.7v
Apacer $92 128meg PC133@145mhz
Windows 98se clean install
Temperature at 60% of it's max rating, under severe load.

Guys, did you get locked or unlocked Duron? I got my new Duron 600, and it's unlocked, but I'm still waiting for the mobo to come in to test it...

I got two week 29's. One did 1gig+ at 1.85 V, the other did 980(950 stable) at 1.85 V. Both using alpha 6035 with the stock fan on it. The temps are less than 40 c, open case with a small table fan blowing in.

Could there be something that I am overlooking? Would I even tell a difference at 1 gig?

I also have a week29. Haven't been able to install yet. So far Week29 doesn't look good at all. Do all of you guys have a blue core also? I wonder how important this is.

Huh?
Week 29 looks GREAT.
Getting 896mhz or 950mhz out of my 2 600's with STOCK HSF.
How can that NOT look good. Check the numbers. At 896mhz,
this stock setup is scoring better than some T-Birds at 1Ghz.
Many users with Duron 700's and aftermarket HSF are not even
getting 950mhz. For users unable to get more, I would guess
that L1 bridges are not solidly connected, voltage or Bios
is not set right, or other components are preventing 900+mhz.
Week 29 is one week I would HIGHLY recommend.

I used the rear window defroster repair kit, for semi-permanent results.

Hey RobTV. Can you can give me some tips on the Windows defroster kit. I have the kit right here with me but it seem like I'm gonna get it all over the pin. How did you connect yours' with the kit.

I did the pencil trick on my 700 on a A7V board, so far have got it stable at 850mz (8x100) using standard voltage (1.56v). I'm going to try higher when I get some good HS paste. Running at 54c under a full load.

Jebus look on the serial number on the chip and if theres a after some 00's its a week 29 if theres a 31 its a week 31 etc. I hear that week 21 have brides already intact thatd be cool if some gets one of those.

Oh btw I made some adjustments to my case, (put ps in the fron of the case add to other fans blowing in from the back) and the fan from the stock HSF ontop of my Fop32 and now I got it running at 46C under heavy heavy load at 896mhz 8x112 at 1.85V

:)

Oh also Id like to add that we should all thank RobsTv for all the useful information and bringing the deal to anandtech, and zapod for originating the deal at fatwallet. :0)
