anyone out there trying to get an H-1 work visa?

don't know how many international people there are on this ATOT forum who are looking to get an H-1 visa.

bad news if you are-- the 65,000 cap was reached today, no more visas for this fiscal year, hence if you don't have one you can't start work till October.

I'm an IT guy working on H1-B. I work for a large university though, so I dont fall under those caps.

yeah governmental positions and universities as well as research/ non profit institutions don't worry about the cap
