Just wondering if anyone out there currently owns a cordless optical mouse and is satisfied with it, I was reading some reviews around and most of them comment on how the mouse freezes with sudden fast movements (even more than regular optical mice). I don't want to buy one and then have to switch to my other mouse to play Quake or CStrike.

Optical is fine.

Super fast movements freeze ball mice, why would optical be any different. It only refreshes so fast.

My friend has an optical cordless... we never used it for super-fast movements so i can't comment on that...

but the tracking doesn't quite feel as good as on a ball mouse... on the other hand, when the rollers on my ball mice get dirty the tracking is MUCH worse than the optical.

I think you should demo it in a store and see how it feels to you.

I own optical mouse and the recently went to BB to get the cordless version and it suck bigtime. It is lagging a lot, I could scroll the wheel and after 1/2-1sec it began to scroll. I would stick to corded optical if you can.

I use Logitech Mouseman Wheel Optical, the cordless I bought is Logitech cordless optical.

My Logitech cordless optical works great. I did have to install the registry fix (from the Logitech site) to enable the wheel in games, though. It does seem to eat a lot of batteries, too. If you get one, buy some rechargable AA's.

Thanks for your input, I'll think i'll just stick to the corded optical. Its just too much money to shell out for a new mouse like that, maybe I'll buy a cordless optical for my next mouse when the they have worked out the bugs.
