Anyone ordered from Best Buy online and chose in-store pickup?

Was considering going today to pick up an X-Fi Platinum card, and the Best Buy website shows it in stock. To ensure my card, I thought about purchasing online and doing an in-store pickup. Anyone have any experiences with this? I don't want to buy it online, then get there and them not have any, then have to wait 3 or 4 days for them to put the money back into my banking account so I can try again.

I do that all the time when I'm worried about them being out of stock. Normally within an hour or so you get an eail saying to come get your item. Basically you order it online, the online system sends an emai lto the store, someone at the store gets that email and goes to find the product. If they find it, it sends you an email back saying come get it. If they don't, it sends you one saying they'll have to ship it to you for no charge.

Order online and it says e-mail verifcation of package ready will come. Also says, package wil lbe ready within 60 minutes.

Get there 90 minuteslater and I was aksed if I got an e-mail saying hte package is ready, and I said no. But I also said htat I order it 90 minutes ago and in store pickup (ON THE WEB SITE) says that your package will be ready within 60 minutes.

So, I thought it was horrible service. They didn't even know their own policies.

Has the X-Fi even been released yet? Also when I look at bestbuy.com, I see all x-fi's as backordered.

Meh, it was ok. Ordered something online that said it was in stock. Got the e-mail in 30 min. that it wasn't in stock. Had to do the order again with a Best Buy further away. Went there and got it without much problem.

I work at circuit city, and I can say that our system (probably identicle to that of best buy) works great, you go sign for the item at customer service, walk 3 feet to the merch pickup counter (the warehouse interface with the world), by which point I usually already have it waiting. I release it, and you go your merry way.

at CC we guaruntee it ready in 15 minutes, unless the item is out of stock when the system shows it in stock (PITA for everyone, customers, employees, managers . . . blame it on the shoplifters).

Well, before i learned my lesson and quit shopping at BB, I ordered stuff online for in store pick-up. Then, it wasn't ready until the next day. Now, i ordered online for instore pickup at CC, never had a problem, and the item is ready about 5 minutes after i place the order.

Sears all the time, never a problem.

 

Please kill me if I ever think about paying $200 for a sound card.
