I used to work with cleaning LCD's.... and they are not easy to clean if you don't have the right tools. There is an overcoat, the plastic case, and beneath it, is obviously the LCD. You can use an air blower like someone suggested earlier. But if you decide to open it up, try popping the plastic screen off and hold it into the light. If the dust is on the plastic screen, just wipe it off with a soft towl. If it's on the LCD, carefully take the specs off with a tooth pick. You have to do it in a sanitary environment and in a timed basis, otherwise there would have been no point in opening it in the first place - 'cuz you'll get more debris inside of it.
