Anyone on Ritalin?

This guy has the same type of effects when on Ritalin.

I was diagnosed last year with adult ADD. I'm not going to go into my symptoms but they all lead to ADD and my sister was diagnosed a few years ago while attending Rutgers University. Researchers tend to think that ADD is genetic. I'm graduating from college this fall by the way.

So I'm seeing therapy now and I'm on Ritalin. The side effects that I get from this drug are: A great sense of that I can accomplish anything (europhia), nervousness, and I get stomach pains. This drug will make me go to the bathroom 1-2 times while I'm on it. In addition, I'll start to worry about certain issues. For instance, my neighbor is downstairs and I can hear him. I'm actually tip-toeing in my apartment so he doesn't hear me.

Anyway, the drug does enable me to get my work done. I get easily distracted and it keeps me extremely focused.

Finally, this drug makes me horny. Remember guys that this drug is like speed. Speed addicts are now using the speed (meth) to enhance their sex lives. Gays have sex all night and sleep with multiple partners when on speed. It's like the same thing but not as intense.

🙂

I don't have ADD, but when I take it, I get a pretty awsome effect. Though never tried Ritalin for clubs/ect.

It doesn't matter if you have ADD or not - it still nets very nice performance increases. It's like, overclocking you mind!

I was told by the salesman...er...doctor, that I had ADD when I was 6 or 7, and put on meds until I was about...13.

At that point I started realizing that ritalin, and all the other drugs, don't really fix the problem.

I stopped taking the drugs and found out that I was actually fine, and better off without them. Though my mom and the doctors insisted I had ADD.

And the drug basically IS speed.

So as long as you can convince yourself that you don't need the medical crutch anymore and can concentrate on your own, you could probably drop the meds. The problem is more or less in your head (as I've found to be the case with most anything they tell you you need medication for...), and once you get past the idea that something is wrong with you you can probably overcome it 🙂

Not trying to preach at you or tell you how to live...just my point of view and experience.

Yes, doctors also like to diagnose people with ADD because they get more $$$ for every person they give it to, and it works no matter ifyou have the condition or not.

Are there any medical tests for this? or is simple a "I can never concentrate "recite a few symptoms of ADD" and the doctor writes you a perscription. Im thinking this will help staying up to study for EE alot easier than ephedrine and caffiene pills.

I think that if you see the right doctors, you can just say you have the symptoms and they'll give it to you. I don't know of any medical tests, but I know of lots of people that just said they had trouble concentrating and got ritalin.

Exactly.

The drugs aren't there to help. They mask the symptoms (sometimes causing more problems which, yay, need more drugs) and rake in the bucks.

doctors get money for prescribing it?

If they don't get a direct chunk of cash, they're at least seeing patients sucessfully, which in turn makes them look good. Not to mention it's a lot easier to give someone ritalin who wants it than to tell someone they have cancer or something ( bad example )

Hmm, I might try that. I hate the heartbeat like mad/super shakes and being cold all the time from doing so much ephedrine.

Plus the patient has to come back for annual checkups to get more refills.

A friend of my was on Ritalin a few years ago(back in middle school), that crap turned him in to a violent mofo. Needless to say he was taken off it very quickly and the whole ADD thing was droped.

It's a good thing he's not a coke users. Jesus christ.

I take Ritalin for ADD and I hate the side effects. I can't wait until I finish school so I can get off of it.

It kills my sex drive.. and I don't have much of one to begin with. It makes me feel nervous with a slight nauseus feeling. It makes my sleep schedule kind of screwed up.

But.. it allows me to do my homework - something I never did before Ritalin. So, it's worth it for the time being.

That happened to me when I smoked, once I got older. Killed the enjoyment so now I don't get to anymore 🙁

I sure don't. One of my friends decided to mix Ritalin, codeine, and alcohol (yes, he is a moron). He was dry heaving the entire next day. Thank god it didn't kill him. That's just another reason to not mix prescription drugs with alcohol and also not take prescription drugs that weren't prescribed to you.

Ritalin is a stimulant so I could see how it would make your sex drive go into sex OVERdrive. Boy, I crack myself up. Anyway, unless you had an overactive sex drive it makes sense that it would only increase it.

Ritalin is basically a refined/stronger version caffeine without the jittery side effects.

Refine some more and you've essentially got adderall. Further refine for speed.

They're all stimulants, which are also diuretics IIRC. The urge to urinate is totally normal. Nervousness/stomach pains might be related to your dosage/adjustment to ritalin. What is your dosage?

That sounds like a hell of a good time. 😉

My sister "has it" and my cousin has it. I think my sister "has it" simply because she is in college, was only diagnosed in college and is likely taking it so that she can study/work more. Cousin on the other hand, hes just messed up, so screwed up.
