Just wanted to know if anyone uses this? I finally signed up for an account but wtf is the point...anyone else use this?

No, though it now seems like every business is. In some cases I see where it may be beneficial for businesses (tech related businesses), but most of the time, it's just stupid.

It's pretty useful for up to the minute news on certain topics. For example, I'm a big NBA fan, and a lot of players and NBA media people have twitter accounts. That's where a lot of the news on player movement has been posted first, before it even hits the internet sites or TV. I never actually "tweet" I just follow people for news.

I signed up to follow the Sports Guy, Dameshek, and PTI. They have interesting notes once in a while, but more importantly I learn about appearances on other shows, or other columns that I would not have otherwise heard about. I don't twitter myself because I have nothing to say and nobody would care even if I did.
