anyone on cricket?

So.. I'm thinking of switching from T-Mobile to cricket, as I have a one plus one that works on both tmo and att lte. I'll get the $55 10 gig data plan and a $100 credit for porting from T-Mobile. The issue is that the lte data us capped at 8mbs. That's still pretty high though. Also there's latency issues.

Is anyone here using cricket? Give me your reviews.

It's good, you get a visual voicemail app for cricket too.

Same performance as when i was with straight talk. You're capped at 8 mbps download, though i don't know why you need faster speeds.

It is fantastic wireless service.

Before they were bought by AT&T, Aio Wireless had amazing customer service. AT&T + Cricket definitely took that down a huge notch.

I had the service when it was aio, the service was great. They acquired cricket and within 2 months my service went to shit fast. I constantly get no signal in my house now and have to restart my phone just to send a text.

I thought maybe its my sim card so I went and got a new one and still have the same issues. It sucks because I love the pricing. $45 a month for 2gb of lte is great but only when I can use it.

I'm actually switching to Verizon tomorrow. We got a good deal for 3 lines and 10gb of data for $130 a month with my wife's discount.

Switched from Straight Talk ATT to Cricket last month, so far everything is good.
Straight Talk is shady and unreliable. ST also has the worst customer service ever.

Cricket service seems more reliable (maybe placebo?). Haven't had to use their CS yet, so can't comment on that. Their website is nice and their apps (voicemail, account apps) are nice looking too. The capped speed 8mbps isn't really an issue when browsing the web on a phone. 720p youtube and music streaming all work fine. I haven't noticed a difference. The porting process for cricket is pretty nice too. They do a pre-auth with your provider when you order on the website. They won't ship until the port is verified. Then, once all the info is verified it ships. When you get it, you activate it on the website and have service almost immediately. Your old phone works until you activate.

Also above, the $45 plan is 3GB of data.
If you wanted to use a referral, you would need someone to send you the referral before you order a SIM and sign up. Otherwise it would get denied. I also bought the Lumia 630 when ordering the SIM (it makes the SIM card free). I paid $50 for the Lumia - $50 rebate = free phone. I put the SIM in my other phone. I sold the Lumia 630 after playing with it for a bit (didn't need a spare phone).

I switched from StraightTalk to Cricket about 2 months ago.

Customer service at Cricket is not much better than ST, but it is a bit better - I made two calls to Cricket customer service and I still don't have visual voicemail. Coverage and data rates for me are about the same. Overall I'm pleased enough. It's $5 less than ST (with automatic payments) and it seems like about the same of everything else.

I had nothing but trouble with customer service. They didn't apply my referrals I had for my two lines. Called in spoke to a agent, said it would be applied next month. Never happened called back got a supervisor said the same as before and it didn't happen. It took 4 months for me to get my referral credits after the initial 90 days.

The price is right but the coverage in my area is terrible and my customer service experience was real bad.

I replied to your PM preslove. Also, if you can get in on a 5 line deal, it is an AMAZING value. I pay $20 a month for unlimited voice/text and 1 gigs of data. A guy on my plan is paying $30 for 3 gigs i think. No other carrier/prepaid carrier can come close to that deal.

I've had a meh experience with Cricket coverage. Way too often were my data speeds 2-4 Mbps. Sometimes I'd get ~6 Mbps, and I considered myself lucky if I got to the cap of 8 Mbps. I also tested an HSPA phone (4 Mbps cap) and the speeds were also crap: averages of 2-3 Mbps with dips to 1 Mbps.

The primary reason I switched over from T-Mobile, though, was for the supposedly superior coverage and building penetration of AT&T's network... Neither of which I experienced in my area. I live in Orange County and took trips to the San Diego, Riverside, and Los Angeles counties while I had an AT&T Lumia 635 on Cricket.

So, yeah, I've had a meh experience with Cricket. I'd say it was crap, but they have attractive pricing. I've formed a group of 4 friends and have switched back to T-Mobile instead for their $100-for-4 family promo instead. Much happier and am saving even more money now.
