• We’re currently investigating an issue related to the forum theme and styling that is impacting page layout and visual formatting. The problem has been identified, and we are actively working on a resolution. There is no impact to user data or functionality, this is strictly a front-end display issue. With the good, comes the bad, and it seems that right now, there's a crapload of it.

While I don't mind the "look," the popups are highly annoying, and the posting time limit sucks. What do you all think?
 
I don't like it either.

1. Popups to login. I block popups. I can not think of one good reason to do it that way.
2. I don't like the design. I really don't like the button.
3. I do not like the text field changing colors on me. ERRRR
4. I hear people don't like the new PM system. I don't use them much so I don't know.

Do any of you know what advantages there were to the upgrade? I do not see any for the users....

ADD: Woohoo just got an error when I tried to post this!
 
I don't like it either, looks too cartoony and the Today window (now My Forums) is too friggin wide, I have to scroll to see everything.

EDIT: Plus it keeps telling me that my sig is too long now when I try updating my profile to set the right time zone.
 
I think its ok, havent noticed 1 popup using FireFox yet 😉

EDIT: Just noticed the popups when posting this message, that could get annoying... :roll:
 
The popups are definately anoying. I'm also finding myself without my Elite Member tag, and emoticons aren't working in sigs.

I just saw in another thread that you need to change your links back to the standard [L=Link]http://www.whatever.com[/L] format. The FT upgrade screwed them up, converting them to the <a href="">Link</a> style instead.
 
O.k the profile error due to sig too long can easily be fixed. It seems that when they switched it added some code to our sigs.

You can redoo them by

Placing [L=Text] at the front of your link and /L in brackets at the end.

remove all of the other garbage that is in there and your fine.
 
I think it's pretty ugly compared to the old one. Has anyone else lost the the threads they had stored as "favourites"? I'd kinda like to get those back.

Ok, that fixed the sig issue, thanks. It's sooo friggin slow though, I thought my router issues were causing it, but apparently not. Also I see that I was "demoted" to Senior member, but they probably changed the numbering scheme so there weren't so many Lifers.

Allowing actual html code in the sigs is a major concern. Just wait until some little kiddie discovers he can do cross-site scripting :shocked:

IMHO, on the popups: This is the Fusetalk "Enterprise" AFAIK, and I can see how on an IE-only corporate intranet, this kind of stuff would be acceptable, even desirable. However, Zuni made a big mistake in thinking that the same kind of crap would go over well on a major tech site where everybody freaking hates popups, dislikes pukey color schemes (I changed it to Dark which looks much better), finds 30 second post limits a disgrace, and in general dislikes upgrades where the only things "upgraded" are the number of bugs and the amount of bloat. But since the admins have practically no accountability to the users here (hey, it's free, so we have no right to complain - that I can understand, to a degree, but how badly do they want to keep the more dedicated part user base?), and I am fairly certain that none of these relatively major issues will be fixed. 🙁

Call me a pessimist, but from past experience it seems that I'm just being a realist. :frown:

And then it pops up over the other page I was reading.
 
I'm sorry but the new setup sucks...

Completely botched load times & password retrieval information required (which for the record, is the offical stamp of crap sauce)

Major bummer 🙁

I'll be spending much less time browsing the boards now that it takes so long to get around
