Anyone notice.........?

The sun swaped magnetic poles last friday.Go figure.Like north is now south.This happens every eleven years,the last time it did it killed most pages from pagers for a while.This time its expected to play hell with all things wireless.I would like to know,how is it possible to swap magentic poles?

Does it not take earth like 10,000 years or 10 million for the poles to switch like that?
