I have a SCSI system with a Epox 8K7A with the 760 and Via whatever southbridge. I get pretty low benches for most of my hard drives SCSI and IDE compared to a BX board.
seems as even with the Vlink via the southbridge is still pretty crappy. Only with the patches Via are releasing are some RAID controllers working better. We see the onboard IDE still is pretty crappy, even with a KT333 board. You can see it here: Tbreak. Looks like we will have to wait for the KT333A with the new 533MB vlink VT8235 southbridge. I wonder how the nForce compares.
PCI bus is still sorta stuck at the standard for all chipsets until the new PCI standard is out.
As for VIA IDE performance, its really not too bad. They are above SiS, nvidia, but below intel, and ALi, never seen a AMD benchmark.
