Anyone notice that a majority of men artificially deepen their voice?

I'm always annoyed when I hear myself on camera or some recording, I actually talk with a higher pitch than most men.

As do I. Except my voice is a boring deep monotone. When I hear myself talk it sounds like what most people talk like, but a recording says otherwise.

I think you're saying that because you do too? :awe:

Nah, my voice is pretty middle of the road, it doesn't stand out.
I said that because I thought he must think his voice sounds higher than everybody elses, which maybe made him feel a bit uncomfortable about it. It wasn't directed as an attack or insult, simply an opinion from somebody who is neutral.

That said, I'm sure I have plenty to be insecure about.

Hey, no need to justify. I was just checking. :)

A majority? I don't think I've ever heard someone artificially deepen their voice that wasn't doing it as a joke...

Not really, but I generally avoid real-life conversation. From personal experience, I actually raise my voice to a submissive and girly one when talking to men in positions of authority. Otherwise I have a kind of crackly and monotone nerd voice. Unless I'm doing something physically exhausting, like walking, in which case I kind of mutter inaudibly, which is deeper but not artificial.

You're a very weird dude you know that?

I have a great voice. I thought I talk with a nasal like resonance, but I was told I don't.

I give him grief when I think he deserves it, which is often enough, him being a young twerp and all, but . . . Burger Boy exhibits a basic general intelligence, which leaks through in his posting style, that does actually impress me, all things considered. He's smarter than the average bear.

Truthfully, I wish my voice were higher pitched. It's very deep and some people can't hear me correctly when I talk.

I knew a lot of black men when I was younger. Almost without exception, when they were talking to a female that they were hitting on, they would deepen their voice, <Barry White> but if they were mad...their voice got very high...almost falsetto-like.
