I'm thinking of replacing the stock HSF and red ramsinks with a crystal orb and some copper ramsinks. I'm not too sure where I can get the copper ramsinks that will ship to Canada though.

I can already get approximately 250/560 with my Gainward GF3 Ti200. I get artifacts after that.

I know that I don't "need" to overclock it anymore. It's just somethin fun to tinker around with :D

Update: Okay, I found that Plycon has the ramsinks I was looking for... but DAMN!! $26.99 USD?!?! $29.99 for the tin coated ones too! Geez.. damn the exchange rate. Even worse, they ship using FedEx. That means crazy shipping costs. Oh well.

Anyone know if the tin coated copper heatsinks degrade performance or are they just about the same as the regular copper heatsinks?

I've got a friends who seems to have quite a few contacts around the computer world... I'll check with him, see if he can't get you a better deal... and we're already in Canada... :D

what ti do you have? the golden sample with 4ns ram? i've got the ti200 450 (default mem clock 450) i've got it up to 225/460, but i have no way of checking the card temp, did you push your's to 250/560 just using stock cooling...damn that amazing, most people have been saying that they get arifacts around 500-520, but i may be wrong? anyways what temps are you running, just curious.

Do a search...I haven't heard of many problems with pushing memory past 530-540. Personally, I run 235core/530mem. I've run the mem up to 560 with no artifacts but the 3DMark2001 score didn't jump enough to justify leaving it there. BTW, stock cooling.

Well, I don't know what the memory is rated at but since I've gotten this card up to 250/560 then I guess it could be below 4ns. It is the Golden Sample though 450. That's what the sticker on the box says anyway.

Yeah, I got my card at that speed with stock cooling and no modifications except for a little arctic silver on the core. I started getting artifacts at around 565 memory.

I don't know about the card temps but my case is around 28 celsius and the cpu goes around 45 celsius. Just 1 intake fan, 1 exhaust, 1 7300 rpm delta fan w/ SK6.

Kind of off topic, but i ordered my Gainward GF3 ti200 GS about a week ago from newegg.com. One weird thing i noticed is that it has a different heatsink/fan than shown on the website and reviews. It doesnt have the cool gainward logo taht goes over the top of the heatsink, it just looks more like a Blorb (except its red). The box had the golden sample sticker so im pretty sure I ordered the same card. Maybe its just an older Heatsink. Anyone know?

Ram0, bad news I'm afraid, it looks like that version (which I have) from newegg has 4ns memory and not 3.8. I couldn't get it pass 520 stable - stock cooling.

That sux but oh well. I tried to overclock to 240/500 last nite and it froze right away in UT. Kinda sux that they made 2 revisions of the card, cuz i ended up with the first.

Did you just overclock it up to 240/500 without gradually increasing the clock frequency of the core/mem? I highly recommend that you increment speeds by 5 MHz each day to ensure its stability until you hit the MAX it can do.

For some reason after installing this.... I have the TI 450... I keep crashing.... what drivers are you using. Not sure why I am crashing all the time. Please help. I did not overclock it yet. I installed Expert Tool but it shows the performance that I can overclock up to only 480 only... any ideas why am I crashing ?

Yep man thats my card.......Its weird, last nite it was running fine in Unreal Tournament at 240/500, but it made froze in 3dmark2k1. I think it may be a heat issue, considering I have no fans in my case.

PNY GeForce3 Ti 200 64MB Overclocking Results:

3DMark2001 software used for the test.

Video Driver 21.88

Core / Memory (MHz)
175 / 400 (stock)
220 / 490 (highest overclock with no artifacts in 3DMark2001)

I manually entered the coolbits registry modification and 220 MHz was as far as the slider would go to set the core speed, 500 MHz was the highest I could set the memory.
Once I hit 495 MHz on the memory, I started to notice just a few artifacts, at 500 MHz they where more noticable.
GPU ran fine all the way to the 220 MHz maximum setting.

I've been playing with my settings on my Gainward the past few days and it looks like 240 is the limit for me on the core. Anything above that causes sporadic crashes and XP says the Gainward could not complete a drawing operation. I pushed the memory up as well but didn't find much improvement in the 3DMark2001 score past 535. I'm staying at 235/535...not bad for a card that runs 200/450 oc'd out of the box.

I got that same Gainward card to 262 core x 540 mem, probally could push the core higher, but I am limited by nvmax.

VikingDude151: I just ordered my little Golden Sample Gainward Ti200 and I'm wondering if you changed out the HSF on the core to get that speed? I modded my (now old) GF2 GTS so I'm wondering if I need to mod this puppy...?

I got my card to 250/560 with stock cooling... you should be able to get it pretty high too but not every card is the same..

I've been running rock solid at 235/530 for about a month. I can't believe the performance I'm getting out of this card for the price. It's no wonder why this card is an AnandTech Editor's choice for the Ti200 cards!! SWEET!!! :)
