Anyone miss http://www.valueamerica.com...

Good deals! Four years ago now, I'm feeling old. The 30gig hard drive I bought for like 10 dollars at that time still running in my other system..

Here's some other stuff I got that I still use:

Breadmaker
Paper shredder
Various kitchen wares
Boxes of ballpoint pens (used as filler items)

I do miss them. I've found something that eclipses VA, though, if it works right. While I can't share what it is I'll be happy to brag about it in a couple months after I've tapped it for about 4k or so. 😀

PM me and I'll tell you who the spoon ran away with.

Spooon ran away with Jezo? Oh noooesss!

Sorry, I'd love to share, but I suspect it's a loophole that would be closed if discovered, like so many hot deals. 😀

[wishful voice]

Hopefully, once the economy gets kicking along, there might be some venture capitalists who will put some more money into new E-tailers - which could result in more future hot deals.

[/wishful voice] 😉

I do miss V.A. Man, I picked up some great deals there.

Got me some cheaply-priced merchandise from them! Tons of DVDs for well under $10, too 😀

And wasn't there a mobshop.com for group-buying discounts? Got a Toshiba Dolby Digital receiver/DVD player really cheaply that way once.

And the DVD deals/coupons from places like reel.com, bigstar.com, cdnow.com (always had coupons/certificates floating around).

Ah...those were the days! 😀

Every time I see Value America, I have this mental image of jackals bringing down an elephant, and we were the jackals😀

I even bought my wife's wedding ring from them😀

Yea they were first accompany.com then changed to mobshop and pretty much committed suicide shortly thereafter. Still use my Nikon 950 camera all the time that I got from them at an amazingly cheap price. Bought a few more just to sell off on ebay at $150-200 profit each, and none of that ridiculous rebate stuff either.

ah, the hotdeals of the dotcoms, so sweet. stupid companies desperate to attract shoppers literally giving sh*t away thinking we'd come back😛 now all the hotdeals pale in comparison🙁

Here's some others that pop in my mind for boneheaded dot com failures:

Original Pets.com -- could buy two cases of cat food shipped to me for like $5 shipped or some crazy low amount. Occasionally one could get it even cheaper. Also ordered huge bags of dry cat food -- 20 pound bags - that they shipped to me for about $5. The shipping alone far exceeded what I paid!

Vitamins.com -- got tons of vitamins that I couldn't possibly use for only a few bucks.

Planetrx.com -- All I remember during Christmas was massive raping going on with their 15 off 20 with free shipping offers.

Flooz.com -- Anyone remember Whoopie? Huge loophole on there allowed people to cash in big time and they didn't even pull the plug for a long time.

More.com -- What store would actually pay you to buy things? I remember buying all these mach 3 razors and being offered a bonus credit on my credit card because that's how the deal was. I still have enough mach3 razors to last me a few more years.

Webcertificates.com -- Free online credit card, $20 I think?

I'm sure there's a lot more that I missed.

what was the store that had the rolex's priced at $0.00? lol, that was a fun price mistake.

I kinda like Staples selling items for 1 cent deals. Picked up so many it's not even funny. or buy.com's $10 off 10 and 15 off 15 coupons.
