Anyone make their own ice cream?

Summer is in the air (finally!) and I need an Italian Ice fix. The best place I know is a too long a ride to visit often, so I thought I'd try making my own. It looks super easy, but it requires an ice cream maker. Anyone have any experience with electric, ice-free ice cream machines like THIS or THIS or something similar? I'm not fussy on size, brand or features as long as it's electric, requires no ice or salt, costs under $100 and most importanly, works okay. I know nothing about them, but reading a few reviews at Amazon and Target it seems like there's a lot of junky models out there. I want one that isn't junk.

We have one and have used it a few times...definitely easy to make and it'll be fun nailing down your favorite flavors.

I have this one. It's an older one, but works great. I usually only make cookies 'n cream, but making it fresh tastes way better than the commercial stuff.

I've that one as well and I make Cherry Garcia all the time.

I wound up buying that exact same model and made my second batch tonight. First tried a lemon Italian ice that was very very good. Tonight's science experiment was a raspberry/lime sherbet. It tastes great. So much better than the store-bought stuff.
