Ingredients:
[*]Hickory sauce
[*]Mesquite sauce
[*]a little ketchup
[*]Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey
[*]a pinch of brown sugar

Mix the sauces and ketchup together well before adding the whiskey. Mix whiskey in well and add a pinch of brown sugar. Stir very well and baste onto respectable $11 t-bone steaks and close the BBQ so the rain doesn't spoil the sauce. :)

Well, I'm hoping it won't, but the clouds are getting darker in the east / south. I don't want them spoiling my experiment. :)

It's not BBQ sauce unless it has vinegar in it, IMO.

How much vinegar to add to how much sauce before the sauce actually starts getting bitter?
Depends on what type of sauce you're making.

I highly recommend this book.

Ooh, thanks for the heads up! :)
oops, sorry, that's a great book for general grilling info and has some sauce recipes in it, but this is the one I meant to link!

Pretty much all that guys books are indispensible. The Barbecue Bible is another good one.

This thread is making me hungry for ribs. The best ribs I've ever had were in Chicago at a rib joint called Famous Daves. I had their rib platterwhich was absoutely enormous. A close second would be the full rack of beef ribs I at a restaurant called Claim Jumpers in California. Lip-smackin' good they were!

The steaks that I got are so tender that one of them was almost coming off the bone when I went to turn the meat. :D
