Anyone looking forward in seeing Lord of the Rings?

I love these books. I heard from somewhere that Tolkien created the characters and much of the plots while sitting in the trenches of WWI. Anyone know if this is true?

The LOTR series are the ONLY books I cherish. i am really looking forward to the movie trilogy.

I bought a boxed set of the trilogy... Anybody touches it, I'm going to re-enact the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in real life!
