The offer seems pretty good. Unlimited talk and text and match of your current ATT/Verzion data. Looks like you have to buy a phone or pay $200 to keep your current phone. The FAQ says the deal is good for as long as you keep the phone. Anyone try this? Any hidden pitfalls?

Nope because the Sprint network sucks here. What good is a cheap offer if the network sucks?

If Sprint coverage is rock solid in your home/work area then it's worth considering or Ting.com.

AT&T's Cricket Wireless offers the best bang for your buck.

Unlimited talk/text
No mystery charges, fees or taxes

Starting at $35 for 2.5GB up to $55 for 20GB GB <---- that's what I have and love it.

Basically choose the network first then find a deal/offer or MVNO.

I have Straight Talk, so I'm already paying half of what Verizon or AT&T would charge me :)

That Cricket Wireless plan looks like a bargain, though.

Are you able to bring a phone (ie buy one from Amazon) or do you have to buy from Sprint?

No because Sprint's network is terrible. Believe me, I have the Sprint unlimited data and their 3G is crap and their 4G is spotty and slow.

No, according to this, you have to turn in your old phone to Sprint and buy theirs.
To qualify for the Cut Your Bill rate plan, you have to turn in your old device. Most phones will be recycled as part of our environmental initiatives and help fund Internet safety programs for kids. However, many of our other plans (such as Unlimited) don't have this requirement. When we sit down with you, we'll take this into consideration when we recommend a plan. If you choose one of these other plans, we'll be happy to look into your device's eligibility for our top-notch buyback program.
You can choose any Sprint device with the Cut Your Bill rate plan. Discounts may not apply, but you will have access to some very attractive options to pay for your device. With Sprint Easy Pay, you can pay for the device with monthly payments. Or you can choose to lease select devices.

This, their 4G is 3G elsewhere and their 3G is dial up speed if that. I used to have Sprint and they were terrible in every way possible.

My commute to work everyday in Chicago is 6 miles. On sprint I can't even stream Pandora during that time because there are so many 3G 4G handoffs that take place that my phone can't handle it.

I also live in Chicago and this is exactly the reason I left Sprint 15 months ago--when you managed to get a signal, their 4G was slower than other providers' 3G and their 3G was sub-300kb/s everywhere I frequented. I'm shocked that this is still an issue after all the promises they've made about Chicago being one of their test markets for Spark or whatever they're billing this week as the solution to their data bandwidth issues.

Unless you know they're strong where you live and don't travel much, I'd stay far, far away from Sprint.

I haven't read up on Spark lately but my HTC One M7 unfortunately doesn't have a 700 mhz spectrum radio in it so I'm not able to take advantage of it. There are so many dead zones within the city it is ridiculous.

What provider did you switch to?

What provider did you switch to?

AIO, before AT&T merged them with Cricket. 8-12x the download speed I was seeing with Sprint (even with AIO/Cricket capped out at 8Mbps) at literally half the price I was paying made that a no-brainer even having to buy a new GSM phone.

if pandora is your thing, when my friend passed i had to go back up to chicago from here in west tn. i had pandora on for the entire trip. i stayed at my dads in porter in, and went from there through the south side of chicago, to the northside, then had to go way further north for the wake, and had it going every single time we were in the car and not once on the highway going up there, in indiana, through chicago, well past the northside did it ever quit on me, i always had my tunes. at that point i was totally sold on cricket service....

Then let's help find you a cheaper alternative :)

Which cell networks offer solid coverage in your home/work area?

Looks like my dad is going to keep ATT, it comes out to about $30 per line. For myself I use Tracfone, $150 every 2 years, hard to beat.
