Anyone lived in Hong Kong?

Just wondered if anyone could give me some comments and suggestions. My advisor went on sabbatical pretty much for the entirety of my PhD studies but I wasn't going to let him get off that easy. I'm moving to HK to finish my sudies with him at HKU. The only place I've been to outside the US is Canadia and I don't really count that as a foreign country experience.

Lots of food, shopping, typhoon season at the moment, so it's really muggy.

Most people speak English fine; signs, menus and most announcements are bilingual, so you won't really have any problems getting around or communicating. Speaking of getting around, HK has one of the best public transport systems in the world.

I loves me the HK ............ but I wish my language skills were better 🙁

Any idea were your living?

Cheers,

Still working that out, going to be near the HKU campus at least.

Most of the buses have a display for the next stop, but for some reason most of them don't turn it on so it's easy to miss a stop if you don't know the place. On the other hand subway is as good as japan's so you can't get lost, but both get get very crowded at peak time.
