Anyone live/lived in a Tempe apartment?

Going down to Tempe next week to check out some apartments. There are so many of them, but most are dominated by thin walls and college kids with no respect for other peoples properties. Sounds rare but I'm looking for as quiet an apartment can get in Tempe.

yeah i know it's a long shot... but with a million complexes there have to be a FEW that haven't been overrun yet

This is a property of apartments in general, it's not limited to Tempe, AZ.

I had a place in Mesa that had block walls and never heard a thing from the neighbors. This was in 1988 so I wonder if its still there.

just make sure the apartment doesn't have swamp cooling. my friend moved there and says it sucks. make sure they have central air or window units.

That place must be a real sh@thole if it has a swamp cooler.

are all apartment complex's as bad as their reviews? I was looking through apartmentratings.com and it seems as if there's only a small handful of complex's in tempe/scottsdale/mesa that don't have idiotic management/huge theft/paper thin walls/etc. I was hoping that it was one of those things where only people with complaints bother posting about the complex.

had none of the problems you listed at the place I stayed at (cinderblock walls) had no problems with theft (drove a nice focus with rims big stereo so its not like people didn't know I had it)

I am currently living in Tempe and the only thing that I have anything to complain about is that my apartment is a sh!thole. The other people in my apartment complex are mostly families so the only noise problems I have are during the day as I work at night. At night though, it's silent.
