I am looking for general impressions of the area particularly for a 20-something. I am considering moving down there for a job and I don't know much of the area other than a brief visit to do my interviews. I am from South Florida and visited the area about 15 years ago. I don't really remember it at all unfortunately. Thanks for any input.
 
melbourne itself is kinda eh for a 20 something....you're only about 40 min from orlando though, so its not too bad of a drive to go into town. melbourne is kinda retiree area, or at least last i was there it was (last year-ish)
 
I visit about every two years (grandparents live there).

The demographic is quite older from what I have seen overall. Though I always stayed around the same area so that might not be true for all of Melbourne.
 
I used to live there, I recently quit an engineering job because of, well I won't go into it as it's a horror story. J/k never been there but I bet it's warm. Gluck! 😉
 
Lived there back in 97-98. I loved it. Retirish yes but that means NO traffic. I would visit orlando every now and then but for the most part it was about riding jet skis, eating steak, and getting drunk all the time 😉

But I lived on the cheap cheap too. Bought a 5th wheel, a pick up, a 79 trans am, and lived in camp grounds paying $300 a month including all my utilities. KOA was my favorite. Great showers, kick ass pool, and every now and then the hotties rolled in 😉😉😉
