Me too. I tried getting a job there but no one wants to move a 5 person family from the US to NZ or even Australia.Originally posted by: WinkOsmosis

I'm not ready to retire yet, I'm only 34, but a nice quiet place to raise my family would be just the thing. My wife and I have no need of clubs to enjoy a "night life".![]()

Oh, and in response to the OP - yes, it's a very nice country
As long as you don't want affordable broadband, that is... but I can't imagine anyone here needing broadband, right?
To give you an idea of what we've got, the best plan in Auckland would be 256k ADSL with a 10 gig cap, after which it gets throttled to 56k speeds. That's $65 a month, or about $43 USD. Anything higher speed and you pretty much have to pay by the megabyte.
That aspect sucks, but everything else is good. Best part = no dangerous pests/animals/insects![]()

Talking about kiwis (the fruit that is), someone told me that they rub off the fuzz and eat the skin. Blah. Is that common?
The darn things are hard to peel. I just cut them in half and scoop the fruit out with a spoon.
