you don't need a jeep for the back road to Hana. Just make sure you clean the grass and mud before you return the car. We've done it many times in a regular rental car (if it's raining cats and dogs, then just rent the jeep for that day).

Rofl, we rented a fvcking Chrysler Sebring 4 door (those fvckers are all over Maui), and took the backroad to Hana, no problem. Bring a bathing suit, because you will want to go cliffdiving. Just don't hit your head on a rock!
