For employment, I would start looking at the local casinos. They may be able to use the business and/or marketing skills you gained in college. Of course, there are many service-oriented jobs like waiting on tables, etc. that are available.
MGM Mirage Employment Opportunities-For MGM Grand, Mirage, Bellagio, Treasure Island, etc.
Park Place Entertainment Jobs-For Paris Hotel, Las Vegas Hilton, Flamingo Hotel, Caesars Palace
Mandalay Resorts website-For Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur and Circus Circus
Those links should cover most of the major casinos.
As for housing costs, it is cheaper there than many places. Gas may be a little higher as well as car insurance costs.
I don't know what you like to do, but if your idea of fun is going outdoors, there are a few places you can go (assuming it isn't 109 like on Wed.). There is Lake Mead if you want to go boating. There is Mt. Charleston if you want to avoid the heat and see what is in our local mountains. There is also the nightlife and concerts because of the local casinos here. If you're looking for intellectually stimulating places like museums however, there isn't much. The library system is decent.
How do I know this? I was born in LV and lived there until I went off to college 7 years ago. My mom and other relatives still live there. I was considering coming back, but I wanted to stay here in California.
Before I forget, here is a relocation guide from the local newspaper:
