Anyone listening to classical right now?

Grieg Piano Concerto in a minor, op. 16 III. Allegro moderato e marcato

Performed by Leif Ove Andsnes and the Berlin Philharmonic

One of my reent favorites.....Andsnes plays Grieg so much better than anyone else I have ever heard....

Bach - Toccata and Fuge in D minor

Scarlatti - various harpsichord pieces.

I was listening to Tchaikovsky's Festival Overture 1812 op. 49 earlier today along with some pieces from his ballets (a best of cd). Now I'm listening to Beethoven's 1st symphony.

my itunes play list is on my favorite classical song... Bach Jesu Joy of Mans desiring. It is so beautiful when done with harps and guitars, and also, not really technically "classical" but George Winston is in the mix tonight as well.

Bach - Sarabande from the B minor Violin Partita, transcribed for Lute (by Bach himself, of course).

Blast, I have it only in horns.

I usually have the Soundtrack to "The Piano" in my carousel and usually listen to it a few times a week.
I am listening to it currently.

Freaking sweet music indeed.

That must be awesome. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing a Heifitz recording (on violin of course) of that in a music class back in college.

Me? I'm listening to some Vivaldi oboe concerti on period instruments. Oddly enough I've met both the oboists on this CD though separately, about ten years apart (Stephen Hammer and Frank de Bruine). If you count oboists as "famous people", I've met quite a few famous people. 😀

in horns it is nice, just a different feeling and tone... more joyous and triumphant!
This version is more subdude and melodic!
