Blegh. Nasty, although they are from my town... the guy is big and fat but he sings like a girl.

I've grown to appreciate the vocals. I think they were more high pitched in the In Keeping Secrets album

i used to think so, too, the first time i heard them. then, i listened through their entire newbie album and i just "got it" or something... i dunno. it sounded awesome. at first, i was like "wtf? i hate the vocals... wtf is he, geddy lee or a woman?"... then, after listening to the whole album, i realized that the vocals and music are actually awesome together.

yea, his voice will change with each song, especially now. The vocals for Mother Superior every review has been calling angelic. lol
but seriously, his voice goes perfectly hand-in-hand with the instrumentation of the band and specifically the lyrics, and depending on the lyrical meaning of a song, his voice is a little different.

funny. so your friend was getting lessons from Chris Pennie, and you saw Coheed play in Jersey? Funny that things came together and Chris is now with Coheed starting this year. He is an amazing drummer.
edit: by the way, this was back when chris pennie was only in dillinger escape plan... not yet in coheed.

makes sense. That was about the time period Co&Ca was switching over from Shabutie to Coheed and Cambria. Was 'Second Stage Turbine Blade' out at the point when they were playing gigs in New Jersey?this took place YEARS ago... i think about 6 or so years ago.

Oh, I understood that much. I was just making light of the comedy of the situation, now knowing that Chris is with the band.
I saw DEP open a couple years back for Coheed, and while I wasn't really a fan of the music, the technicality of the instrumentation was cool and Chris was great. I didn't know who he was at the time though. If only, because I could have appreciated the band just a little bit more by focusing intently on the drums.
