Anyone like any of these 3 sets of wheels?

My car has a 5x110 bolt pattern, and it seems about 95% of aftermarket wheels don't fit. And the 5% that do, don't look good to me at all lol. I know looks are subjective, but I'm curious to see what anyone else thinks about these 3. None of them are sold anywhere local. So I'll be ordering them online and hoping for the best. I'm assuming certain online stores I might be able to return them if I don't like them and haven't installed them. But I won't know how they look until they're on my car and if I don't like them I'm stuck lol. And to make it worse, all 3 are the wrong size so I'll have to get em re-drilled, which would make them worth even less if I ended up not liking them and trying to sell them lol. I have a 07 Saturn Sky Redline, as pictured. Pics 3's an optional cover that goes on the first 2 sets of wheels. Pic 4's a vinyl sticker you can put on the cover. They have lots of goofy shit but you can get anything you want printed. I don't know if I'd want Homer on my shit, but that's the example I found lol. And a weird part of me is thinking a set of Homer wheels would be super tacky but might be kinda awesome to have at the same time.

I say might because the covers can be removed in about a minute. Pic 6 is the wheel from pic 5 with their optional cover installed. Would anyone touch any of these? I know all 3 were designed for cars like GTI's, M3s & Ford Focuses. But I'm trying to figure out if I'm crazy or if any might actually look good on my Roadster. Just looking for some outside opinions so I can see my viewpoint from a different person.

Wait, 8 isn't just a cover?

Anyway, part of the question is what style you are going for. I don't mind the stock wheels but dislike the chrome. You could consider getting those refinished. The Koenigs are a bit too "import" IMHO but probably what I choose from the options presented.

I prefer the 'openness' of 5 spoke designs, generally speaking. But I also hate chrome (or polished aluminum).
Have you considered having your rims painted?

I'm not familiar with your car, but an image search shows it with 5spoke wheels(stock I assume) that look pretty good. What's wrong with the wheels you have?

Maybe I’m a snob but if you’re buying aftermarket wheels you should spring for forged and ideally not made in China or Taiwan reps. I know Rotiform makes some (forged?) wheels in the US, other cast/flow formed wheels in China. I went with a set of forged BBS for my car because the OEM wheels are soft and heavy, bend easily and are no longer available for purchase new. The BBS are very noticeably stronger and lighter, no more vibrations after hitting bumps and potholes on our crap streets.

I think your wheels would look great with the ugly chrome stripped and painted with a gun metal type silver, if they’re straight and true or can be straightened.

Yes, it's basically a hubcap for the 1st 2 wheels I posted. They probably will fit on other wheels with some sort of adapter or something I dunno. Rotiform claims they're Aerodiscs and they help to cool the brakes. This has been proven as BS, they just look like Aerodiscs but don't actually have any of the cooling benefits. Not that I care because that's meant for race cars where the brakes can actually get too hot. A lot of sites sell vinyl stickers for them, not sure why but I found 5 different sticker sets with Homer on them lol. With them being removable it's a way to quickly change shit up without changing your wheels. Here's a site that has a bunch of different stickers, they're useless and depending on who you ask, stupid and ugly. But I dunno something about the ability to do stupid shit like this has caught my attention. And, the disc's are removable so it's not permanent. On Reddit I saw a guy with a sick ass Porsche and he had the Dino nugget stickers on his wheels. I laughed at how crazy it looked, but then I realized this site sells them. Was weird to see them on a $150k car though lol.

They're chrome and glossy as hell, which I'm not a fan of and they're 18" and I think 19"'s would be a nice change. Also, I'm Plastdipping my whole car a new color so I thought new wheels would compliment that. I'm going for something similar to Porche or BMW's Miami Blue, which is a teal that's more towards blue than green. Also, my wheels have a bit of road rash and refinishing wheels isn't exactly cheap. $150 a wheel's what I was quoted so I was thinking I could get a whole new set for less than double that. Although I suppose if I get them refinished, they would kinda be new, hummm...

You're not wrong on forged, but they're $$$$ and with my budget the only way I'm getting forged would be used ones that will need a lot of work. And I'm not nearly capable enough to refinish wheels. And your last comment, here's a pic after I Plastidipped them in gunmetal about 8 years ago. I did think they looked good, that was $50 of product and a few hours of work. I'd never used Plastidip so I was impressed with how they came out.
I suppose I could just go that route again, you made me dig the pic up, I removed the stuff after 2 years because I hadn't applied it right and it started to peel off. I hadn't seen this pic in years and looking at it I forgot how much more I liked how they looked. And with Plastidip being under $100 to do all 4 wheels. I could do that and take the wheel money and put it towards better brakes or coilovers!


All of the forged Rotiforms are made here, I think every cast wheel's made in China, that's just how it is I guess. I know forged are also much lighter, but the flow formed Konig's I'm looking at are like 5lb a wheel lighter than my stock, so that would be a big drop in weight. I don't race around so I don't know if shedding 20lb would be noticeable. But the car people obsess over lighter wheels so maybe it would actually make a difference.

Unsprung weight and especially wheel weight is the most noticeable weight reduction you can do, but you still probably won’t notice five pounds per axle unless you regularly track the car. The most noticeable part of the upgrade for me was a smooth ride and much stronger wheel that doesn’t constantly go out of round, and it also fits my recently upgraded brakes without spacers. Between the wheels and brakes I dropped around 20 pounds per axle and taken together, that is very noticeable. Not necessarily in handling but in ride quality — the suspension gets more effective as unsprung weight decreases because the inertia of the wheel/brake system isn’t fighting the suspension’s ability to soak up bumps as much.

When I suggested refinishing and straightening what you have I wasn’t necessarily suggesting a DIY job — a good wheel place should be able to strip, straighten and give them a nice paint job in a color of your choice. Plastidip works too though on a budget :)

Also, you might be surprised at what you can find used. Maybe Volk makes some TE37s in your offset? Those would be high on my list, crazy high quality and would preserve the five spoke look :)
