anyone knows what Bell's Palsy is?

well turns out one of my friend (a special one neverthless :wink) is suffering because of it.
I went online and it seems like the only way to treat it is to let time pass and allow the body will heal itself. In mean time there's nothing she can really do.

Then I stumble upon ONE and only ONE website that claims acupunture will 'fix' / cure it in a matter of days (instead of a 3 month of pain and futile waiting)...

^^^ "miracle" cure ???

I had Bell's Palsy a few years back. My doctor told me that if it's caught very early they can treat it but since you usually don't notice it until it's fully developed, that doesn't help much. I had acupuncture done and it didn't really help. But then maybe the shopping center acupuncturist I went to wasn't very good.

You gradually get better over the course of a few weeks. The first few days are the worst because it's difficult to close your eye all the way, not to mention the social awkwardness of having half your face paralyzed.

There's no cure, but to let your body heal.

I've run across a couple of cases, one of my work buddies had it & he says when he's tired, the affected eye is slow now, a few years later.

I didn't even really notice it much when he had it, noticed him putting in eye drops frequently & asked what was up.
