I tried to look all over Adelphia's website, but couldn't find anything. I want to use Outlook Express. Thanks.

do you use DHCP?

if so, often you just make your incoming and outgoing mail servers "MAIL"

have you tried that?

Sohcrates is right, but......

I had some problems, and the email settings the guys who set me up gave me did not work...I think it differs depending on where you are....

I will say that Adelphia's tech support, which is toll free and 24 hours a day, were very helpful...

Adelphia's biggest problem is that their newsgroup servers are HORRIBLE!! Any big file will be incomplete...I had to go to Usenet.net and get an account there.....

Yup, @Home Tier2 tech here. Setting up an account:

mail server type: POP3
mail server names (both incoming and outgoing): mail
If you find any check boxes that say anything like "use password authentication" or "my server requires authentication" or something like that, DO NOT check them.

Other than your username and password, that's all you really have to know that isn't self explanitory.

"...thank you for calling @Home. Have a good night." :)

No, it doesn't. Each mail server, accross all regions, is named "mail." Some people just need their subdomain along with it to connect. For instance: if you live in Portland Oregon, your subdomain would be "mail.potlnd1.or.home.com" or something similar. I can't tell you exactly what it is because I'm not at work and don't have my tools, but you can easily get that from tech support. This issue is easily a 5 minute call.

:) Why, thank you! :p

Actually, mail and news servers were never meant to take huge files. They may be able to handle it, but you'll never get much tech support for trying to send a 1000K (roughly 1Meg) file through. POP3 servers aren't made to handle stuff that large, reguardless of what people tell you.
