I got an interview coming up. Any good advice, except -> :beer:

Update:

I got the job as Product Specialist. There were a couple of other people also. They took around 20-30 minutes per person doing interviews. My interview took less than 5 minutes. :D Forgot to mention that I am a college graduate in ISM with many internships but was not able to find a full time tech job here in NYC. Bastard employers are asking for way too much. They want a person to have A+, CCNA, MCSE, ... for an entry level position. I guess this will have to do while I am searching for a better job instead of just sitting home. Thx to all for the great advice.

What is the difference between CSA and Sales. Thx.

csa is customer service, you stay at the front desk. Sales is video/audio/car audio/computers

I failed their personality test. I mentioned that I would lie to sell the customer an Item... It appears they don't like that in a salesman, they just want you to act incredibly stupid.

When I applied I was only given these options online:

Non-Management Store Positions:
Please select the position you wish to apply for:
Product Specialist
Roadshop Product Specialist
***Customer Service Associate (CSA)
Warehouse Specialist
Loss Prevention Associate
Custodian
Maintenance Coordinator

I choose CSA thinking that it was the sales position, in the computer section. Hope I'm not screwed. :eek:

:D

sales = product specialist
car audio sales = roadshop product specialist
csa = customer service rep

you got the interview b/c they think you want to be a csa, just hope they have multiple positions available.

Enjoy the 80 page document they make you sign. After reading it, I decided I did not want to work at CC. BAsicly, you give up all your rights to everything while working there.

It is in the technology department (TAS); sales. Thx CheapArse for clarifying to me the positions or I would probably would have choosen the CSA instead of sales. The manager was cool he even told me that the job market sucks and welcomed me to CC.

I know some college grads who work at best buy, macys, and so forth. I know what you mean but what do you expect when there are no entry level positions available. The only open positions available want at least 5 years experience. Not like I am going to stay at CC 4 ever just temp while I can find a "real" job. Don't blame me blame the economy and outsourcing :disgust:

Yeah I know, it' horrible. You really have to know your stuff as soon as you get out of college. A college degree is not a job ticket any more, which people don't realize.

Have to learn to market yourself. I would not settle for CC for too long, you won't even have a career path with it.

Yep, most companies want 5-6 years before they let you in the door. Economy is in the crapper and there are very few entry level jobs out there.

Look at CC as a stepping stone and don't get too comfortable with working there. Keep looking for a real job.
