Anyone know why Epson printers take so bl00dy long to start up compared to HPs? nt?

Probably because the Epson's have a permanent piezo print head and a separate ink tank. The little 'dance' they do at start up is to prime the system.

I print quite a few pics, and from my experiences, the Epson has a slight edge on photo quality printing, but you pay for it in start- up time 🙂
