Anyone know where to get High mAh "Gumstick" batteries??

This is for a slim-x player, the ones I have are 1400mAh, and the charge does* not last very long. Anyone know if there's anything higher than 1400mAh 1.2v gumstick batteries? An external charger for these would be nice to, using the player alone to do it is bothersome.

I did a search a while back (when I got my slim-x) and couldnt find anywhere to buy them (although I did find a little info). They are not called "gumstick" but rather "twi-cell" and they are made by sanyo.

How long does the charge last in yours? Mine last about what they advertise (20+ hours) between charges so I havent cared too much. They are NMH so the only reason they would last longer is if you havent been following good recharge cycle proceedures. If you put NMH batteries on the charger all the time (before they are empty) it will sevearly reduce the amount of power they can hold.

One thing you could try to make them last longer would be to use the "discharge, than recharge" charging cycle on them several times in a row. In effect putting them through several complete charging cycles charging/draining/charging/draining/etc. This will proably help to extend the life unless you have been in the habbit of constantly "topping them off" for an extended period of time.

If you dont know what I'm refering to by charge cycles I would recommend reading this.

If you do find somewhere you can buy them or an external charger please let us know, I would also be interested in getting my hands on another set.

Found both!!

I just did a mini-disk search insted since I knew they used the same Gumsticks (twi-cell). iRiver themselfs makes a 1450mAh battery for only 19.99, beats 40+ bucks for the Sanyo Twice-Cell batteries and there's a charger available for them to.

You require a higher dose. With enough hallucinogens, your batteries could last forever. Not that I would know or anything.

Did you buy any of them? Does that $20 price get you one battery or two?

How much play time are you getting from your batteries? You're supposed to get about 11 hours. Have you been discharging/recharging at least once a month?

Alrighty smart ass, spelling error fixed.

What is even more sad is that I often see people who actually find those funny and reply with an "lmao" or some sh*t like that.

It says battery and not batteries. It looks like only one is provided for $20.00. They are not cheap.

That's what I'm afraid of, $40 for 2 batteries is a little steep for me...
